Welcome!


My name is Abby Stain and I'm glad you're here. I am an HCPC Registered Music Therapist specialising in helping young people who struggle with a range of issues including social, emotional and mental health wellbeing.


I have been involved in music therapy for the past 25 years, working with 100s of children, adolescents and adults with a special interest in supporting children in care .


My aims for the client include creating opportunities for connectedness, fostering understanding, facilitating development, finding resilience and taking communication to another level.  I am passionate about supporting the growth of the music therapy profession and am

Chair of the Communications & Marketing Committee and an Equity, Belonging and Inclusion Trustee for the British Association for Music Therapy.

 

My philosophy embraces a contemporary, blended, eclectic therapeutic approach grounded in theoretical frameworks that informs my work along with the fundamental belief that every person has a desire to grow.

I work flexibly in schools, centres, residential homes, PRUs and specialist units.

Supervision

Professional clinical supervision provides time for reflective learning and works towards finding effective solutions for emotionally challenging work.

Workshops & Training

Interactive presentations, workshops and training on transferrable therapeutic music-making skills.
